No-exam life insurance
Which applicants qualify, how the process works, and what happens if you don't skip the exam.
Today many carriers offer accelerated underwriting: for applicants in certain age and amount ranges, they underwrite based on application data, Rx history, MVR and other records rather than requesting a physical. Approvals can arrive within hours. Each rate shown here indicates whether an exam is required, optional or not necessary for that product.
What it changes
Skipping the exam isn't the same as skipping underwriting. Your information still gets verified; a policy issued on false information can be challenged in its first two years. If the carrier's research flags concerns, they might still order an exam or lab work.
Who tends to qualify
Often those under age 60 seeking amounts within each carrier's limit, with no serious health history and no tobacco use within the past year or so. Recent bloodwork from a doctor can sometimes substitute for a new exam.
If one is required, you're usually looking at a 20-30 minute appointment with a paramedical specialist at your residence or workplace in the Escondido vicinity, with zero out-of-pocket cost. For individuals in good health, exam findings frequently boost your rate classification, making it not necessarily a bad outcome.
