The California Center for the Arts in downtown Escondido opened its doors in 1994 as a public performing-arts and visual-arts institution. Built as a collaboration between the City of Escondido and the California Center for the Arts Foundation, the center sits at 340 North Escondido Boulevard and has become one of the signature cultural facilities in San Diego County north of the city of San Diego. The complex includes a concert hall, an opera house, and an art museum, all designed by renowned architect James Stewart Polshek.

The center hosts more than 400 performances and exhibitions each year, ranging from classical symphony concerts and opera to contemporary theater and dance. The Escondido Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1981, makes its home at the center. Approximately 250,000 visitors come through annually to attend performances, explore the art galleries and sculpture gardens, and participate in educational programs. The museum's collection focuses on California artists and contemporary work, and the grounds feature outdoor sculpture installations.

For families in Escondido, the center represents both a cultural tradition and a gathering place across generations: a school group field trip, a date night, a season subscription. Building stability for those families—ensuring that the people who support them have the security to do so—is what term life insurance planning accomplishes. A policy sized for your actual household needs and the years when those needs matter most is the practical foundation for that tradition.
